ST ANDREW’S CHURCH, KINSON


This characterful medieval church is located in a picturesque churchyard tucked in the centre of Kinson in Bournemouth. The church is bright and airy and has recently been modernised with underfloor heating and pew cushions for added comfort and cosiness. Concerts take place in the church with toilet facilities and bar located in the adjacent church hall. There is a small car park on site, two public car parks in Kinson and ample free parking in the streets around.

GETTING THERE AND PARKING
There is a small car park on site and lots of unrestricted free parking on the streets immediately around. There are public car parks behind the library (Kinson Hub) on Millhams Lane, and also in front of Pelhams House.

Kinson is well served by buses, stopping at Kinson Library, a short walk from the church.

ACCESSIBILITY
The church and church hall are level access. There is an accessible toilet located in the adjoining church hall. There is a car park to the rear of the church, continue past the church to the end of the lane and turn left to enter. Access from the car park to the church and hall is up a short fairly steep tarmac slope with handrail. There are a couple of parking spaces at front of the church with level access into the paved churchyard. Wheelchairs can be accommodated at the front of the left side aisle and the rear centre of the nave.

Concerts take place in the church building. Seating is on pews arranged in four blocks with a central nave and two aisles. You are welcome to bring a cushion to sit on! Lighting is static, white lights on the performers and coloured uplighters highlighting the chancel. The bar and toilets are located in the church hall next to the church.

7.00pm Bar opens in the church hall
7.15pm Doors to the church open
7.45pm First music set – 45 minutes
8.30pm 20 minute interval
8.50pm Second music set – 45 minutes + encore
9.45pm Concert ends

ST AMBROSE CHURCH, WESTBOURNE

Located on Westcliff Road in Westbourne, St Ambrose church has a long association with music and has been the home of the Westbourne Orchestra for nearly 100 years. It regularly hosts Bournemouth University music events and is also the home of St Ambrose Strings. It’s a large spacious church with proper chairs, not pews! The natural acoustic is lovely, there is ample free parking on site and on the streets around, it’s easily accessible on a number of bus routes and has good disabled access. Toilets are located in the adjoining church hall.
